Pier Cafe, San Diego

The Pier Cafe is situated on a pier in Seaport Village overlooking the San Diego Bay. It is a beautiful location that looks out over the water facing Coronado. It's a great place to watch the Sun go down. It's easy to walk to from all of the hotels between the San Diego Convention Center and the Maritime Museum. Our reservation was on the later side, just as things were quieting down, which made it an even more comfortable experience. The menu is pretty standard, but what they serve is very good. Our server was attentive and helpful. I had the Citrus Marinated Seabass, and my wife had the Blackened Mahi-Mahi. We enjoyed our meals and feel that they were a VERY good value, given that each cost in the low $20 range. In fact, all of the items on the menu were reasonably priced. I'd recommend it to a friend who wants a casual experience in the bay area overlooking the water. I'd also recommend it to a family with young children who don't want to break the bank, but would like their kids to have a nice experience. If you want to avoid a place with children, do as we did and make reservations on the later side because young families clear out after 7:00 PM.
